Meeting Bronwyn and Tony at Conner Well Rest Area - Sat 16th June

Bronwyn and Tony were travelling south, on their way home, and we are travelling north. We arranged to meet for the night at Conner Well rest area, 95km north of Alice Springs.

Judy and I spent Friday night at Gemtree. (Turn off the Stuart Highway 70km north of Alice Springs and go another 70km east.) We spent Saturday morning fossicking for garnets (see separate article).

We left Gemtree about 2:30pm and arrived at Conner Well just before 4pm (bang on time) to find Tony waving us into a reserved parking bay opposite their caravan.

We spent a night of camp fire and much chat.

In the morning Tony, being a Dutchman, had to test Judy's electric bike. Then we went our separate ways. Tony and Bronwyn to Alice Springs, Judy and I to Devils Marbles (see Bitumen Bush Camp article).
